The Parts Counterperson is responsible for the selling of parts, increasing volume, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining the department as needed/instructed by the Parts Manager.
Receive requests from customers and the Service Department for parts needed to complete repairs.
Greet and treat all customers in a positive manner.
Look up parts and suggest additional options.
Pull requested parts from stock.
Create counter tickets and/or add parts to shop orders as necessary.
Call vendors and place orders for customers.
Create PO's with all required information.
Ensure that all backordered parts are ordered in a timely and complete manner as per the customer/shop request.
Check-in priority and stock orders as needed.
Put away stock as needed.
Recover all inbound/outbound freight charges possible.
Keep customers/shop notified of extended backorders as well as receipt of parts orders.
Invoice customers as necessary.
Maintain cleanliness of department, aisles, shelves, showroom and personal work areas daily.
Maintain stock levels in display area daily.
Maintain organized notes, orders, reference materials, etc.
Communicate any issues to management.
Other duties as assigned.
